ABOUT OUR PANELISTS:
Greg Mertz, MBA, FACMPE, director of consulting operations, Healthcare Strategy Group, brings over 30 years of healthcare experience in public health, hospital development, physician practice management and consulting. As Director, his areas of focus are performance improvement of complex physician organizations, development of physician alignment strategies, and managing the clinical integration process required to create enhanced care environments. Currently Mr. Mertz leads the clinical integration service line within Healthcare Strategy Group.
In consulting engagements, Mr. Mertz has helped community and academic medical centers in assessing performance issues, developing strategies to improve organizational performance, and has addressed the need to enhance bottom line results through organizational redesign.
Recently he has been identified as a thought leader on the impact of healthcare reform proposals on hospital-physician relationships, specifically as this related to the evolution of care models under value-based purchasing. He has hosted or participated in national conference calls and pod casts, is an advisor to investment firms seeking opportunities in ACO development, and has authored articles on ACOs in national media, and is a chapter author for a book on the future of health care.
Mr. Mertz has undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Business Administration from Gettysburg College and a Master in Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from Widener University. He has served for more than 10 years as an adjunct assistant professor of health administration at Old Dominion University in Virginia.
Travis Ansel, MBA, is a Manager, Strategic Services with Healthcare Strategy Group, LLC, with a primary focus on hospital strategic planning, physician alignment planning and clinical integration.
